Why is the one-time password generated by my authenticator not accepted during the login?
There are two reasons why a one-time password generated by your authenticator app is not accepted:
- The time setting of your smartphone is not correct
- Your terminal device does not have the correct "Secret Shared Key" (e.g. due to a reset), which was shown once
when activating the 2-factor authentication on bitcoin.de.
Please check, if the time of your smartphone is set correctly, first. If you're using an Android smartphone, please use the code-time correction option at the Google Authenticator app settings.
If this hint does not help, please contact us via our contact form. We will be happy to check, whether you have the appropriate "Secret Shared Key" required to calculate the correct one-time password.
